Ice Cube and Mike Epps To Celebrate ‘Friday’ Franchise

Since its 1995 debut, the movie “Friday”  has remained a defining piece of pop culture.

The buddy comedy film co-written by and starring Ice Cube about growing up in South Central Los Angeles has become a cult classic and resonates across generations.

The stars of the film Ice Cube and Mike Epps are uniting for Everyday’s Friday: Lyrics, Loungin’ and Laughing, a one-night-only event at the Long Beach Amphitheater on Friday, July 17, celebrating nearly 30 years of the iconic “Friday” franchise, and signaling the next chapter is officially underway.

Featured guest performances include Warren G and Scarface.

Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Friday character for a chance to win cash prizes: 1st Place — $2,000, 2nd Place — $1,000, and 3rd Place — $500.

Timed with Ice Cube’s ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on May 12, the announcement taps into a full-circle cultural moment for one of hip-hop’s most influential figures.

The event will feature a live performance from Ice Cube alongside a headline stand-up set from Mike Epps.

Friday has always been about and for the fans who made it a classic and kept it alive for nearly 30 years. To be able to step back out there with Mike Epps and bring that energy to the stage for a one-night-only experience in Long Beach is special. This show represents the beginning of the next chapter, says Ice Cube
