15 scientific and technical trophies will be doled out at Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony.
Recipients of the trophies demonstrate a proven record of contributing significant value to the process of making motion pictures.
Actor, producer and singer Sofia Carson will host the ceremony which will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Brent Bell, Josef Köhler and Ian Medwell are tapped to receive technical awards for the research and development of a pyrotechnic devices used extensively in motion picture productions throughout the world. for developing the first small lead-free pyrotechnic devices available at scale.
Other award recipients include Bret St.Clair and Marc-André Davignon who will receive engineering awards for the design and engineering of the suite of brushing and patching tools which aids the animation industry.
