Anyier Anei is making her film debut in “Couture.”
The film follows Oscar winner Angelina Jolie who plays a successful filmmaker in Paris whose life changes when she is diagnosed with breast cancer. As Maxine, she’s an American filmmaker who arrives in Paris during the frenzy of Fashion Week.
After the diagnosis, her path intersects with women of different ages and cultural backgrounds – all fighting to take control of their own destinies and she finds herself on a deeply personal journey of self-discovery that forces her to confront the choices shaping her life .
In the film, Anei plays a young, inexperienced model from South Sudan navigating the overwhelming fashion world.
The model who hails from South Sudan was handpicked by director Alice Winocour during a Chanel couture show to star in the film and before her modeling career took off, she secured a full scholarship to study at the United States International University Africa in Kenya.
She actively uses her global platform to advocate for leadership, education, and representation for young African girls.
