Estranged Brothers Reunite in Jamie Foxx’s ‘East of the River’

The upcoming crime thriller “East of the River” has just wrapped post-production.

Directed by Dennis Latos, and written by Elise Finnerty with story by Jim Tamburino, the film follows two estranged brothers reuniting to face the underground poker ring that destroyed their family.

Produced by Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole Productions, it stars Ben Barnes, Ben Ahlers, Callie Hernandez, “Dexter’s” David Zayas and Congolese actress Maria Sten, whose credits include Amazon’s hit show “Reacher.”

“East of the River” also features former WWE wrestler James Storm and former NFL running back Dalvin Cook.

The film follows Joey (Barnes) after his release from prison returning to Queens to rebuild his life — unaware his brother Drew (Ahlers) has gone deep into underground poker. When Joey’s past collides with Drew’s dangerous new world, both brothers are pulled into a high-stakes spiral of debt, deception, and organized crime that echoes the addiction that destroyed their father.

Foxxhole Productions is a full-service film and television production company founded and led by Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne Foxx, with an overall deal at Fox Entertainment Studios. Recent projects include “Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself”, “Number One on the Call Sheet”, “The Burial“, “They Cloned Tyrone.”

“We’ve been fans of Dennis since first discovering his short film, ‘Leylak’ where his command of character and storytelling immediately stood out. This film is a powerful continuation of that voice, and we’re proud to support this exceptional project,” shares Jamie and Corinne.
