Prime Video will premiere a Muhammad Ali series called “The Greatest.”
The announcement was made during a special first-look presentation on the main stage at Essence Festival of Culture which showed a first-look teaser about the series that brings the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali to the screen.
With previous films on Ali that include, “I am Ali,” made by Ali’s daughter’s Maryum and Hana, “The Greatest” is executive produced by Lonnie Ali, his widow.
The series stars Jaalen Best as Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali; and cast members Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, Kai Parham and Michael Ealy.
Alongside Ben Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions (“Cross”) and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society (“The Creed” franchise), are Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment, a Universal Music Group partner, and Grace: A Storytelling Company, with Watkins as show runner and executive producer.
Ali stunned the world with his dazzling fists and dancing footwork and was a passionate belief in black civil rights, and helped shape history and inspire a new generation.
“The Greatest,” will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, November 4.
