
Don Lemon, Jenifer Lewis and Nneka Onuorah were some of the honorees at the 12th Annual Truth Awards, an event which celebrates Black LGBTQ+ leaders and allies.
Hosted by actress Vivica A. Fox, the two-hour ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles presented journalist and television news anchor Don Lemon with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Actress Jenifer Lewis (“Black-ish,” The Preacher’s Wife, Goat) was given the Ally Award and filmmaker and director Nneka Onuorah was presented with the Breakout Star Award for her work on projects “Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words” and “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.”

Other honorees at a gala, which featured a performance by Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lalah Hathaway, included producer and media entrepreneur Carlos King, comedian Flame Monroe, physician Dr. Keith Green and singer-songwriter Durand Bernarr .

Presenters included Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph and former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
