Sam Pollard To Receive Lifetime Achievement Honor

He is an accomplished feature film and documentary producer/director with credits that include “Slavery By Another Name” and Why We Hate.”

Sam Pollard, who has also edited several Spike Lee’s films;  ”Mo’ Better Blues,” “Jungle Fever,” ”Girl 6,” ”Clockers,” and “Bamboozled” will receive a Lifetime Achievement Honor.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced Pollard is one of several honorees at the upcoming 47th Annual Sports Emmy Awards and the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards, taking place May 26-28 in New York City.

A co-producer on documentary productions for the small and big screen which include “Four Little Girls,” a feature-length documentary about the 1963 Birmingham church bombings, and “When The Levees Broke,” Pollard was an Executive Producer on Netflix’s “Katrina: Come Hell and High Water” and EP on the Oscar-nominated “The Perfect Neighbor.”
