In Georgia Bernstein’s ‘Night Nurse’ a Caregiver Targets Wealthy Residents At a Nursing Home

A young nurse takes a new job at a luxury retirement community and is pulled into a seductive scheme targeting its wealthy elderly residents.

That’s the premise of Georgia Bernstein’s “Night Nurse,” an independent psychosexual thriller which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Cemre Paksoy plays Eleni a nurse who becomes deeply fixated with her elusive, elderly manipulative patient, Douglas (Bruce McKenzie), a con artist who uses prescription drugs and psychological control.

Debut director Georgia Bernstein’s atmospheric thriller explores how emotion, deception, and sexual obsession can come together in the liminal space between caregivers and the people they care for.

“Night Nurse” releases in theaters July 10.
