Estelle Joins Verzuz ‘R&B Nights’

Grammy Award-winning artist Estelle joined Verzuz, the musical competition which famous artists face off to determine who has the better catalog for its “R&B Nights” celebration.

Celebrating the ’90s and early 2000s R&B, it typically features artists — rappers, R&B singers, influential producers — who have made their name in the past few decades.

The Apple Music Radio host opened the night alongside Nadeska, Eddie and Nick. She later took the stage to introduce Joe and Donell Jones before the R&B crooners performed their signature catalogs.

She returned at the end of the event to deliver the official closing announcements.

Estelle, who has released six solo albums can be heard on “The Estelle Show,” which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 p.m. PT on Apple Music 1.

Estelle’s 2018 release “Lover’s Rock” represented a full circle moment for Estelle, dedicating the entire soundscape of the album to those initial Caribbean and African sounds that originally influenced her.

As a recipient of the Gracie Award for Women in Media, Estelle has established herself as a prominent voice in music media and her show aims to celebrate the diverse sounds of music and culture as well as tell stories about the artists and music that soundtrack our lives.

With a career that spans twenty years in music and entertainment, the genius of Estelle is defined by her infinite curiosity and eternal desire to creatively challenge the boundaries of what Black music is and to reimagine what it can sound like.
