‘Obsession’ Receives Best Horror Movie Nod

“Obsession,” the cultural phenomenon received the Best Horror Movie trophy at the Critics Choice Super Awards.

The horror flick, which has grossed nearly $500 million worldwide, also honored lead actress Inde Navarrette with a Best Actress in a Horror Movie trophy.

“Project Hail Mary,” “Superman,” and “The Furious” were also winners at the sixth annual Critics Choice Super Awards, earning two wins each. “Project Hail Mary” took home Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie, with its star Ryan Gosling winning Best Actor in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie.

“Superman” was named Best Superhero Movie, and David Corenswet won Best Actor in a Superhero Movie. In the Action categories, “The Furious” won Best Action Movie, and Xie Miao received Best Actor in an Action Movie.

“The Boys” and “Widow’s Bay” were the standouts among this year’s television winners, each taking home three trophies. “The Boys” earned three wins from its five nominations, including Best Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.

The Critics Choice Super Awards is also presenting a special honor recognizing a certain outstanding performance in a horror film. This year, Indy, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and four-legged star of IFC’s thriller “Good Boy,” will receive the Best Good Boy in a Horror Movie award for his scene-stealing performance.
