Pan African Film Festival Celebrates ‘Car Wash’

The Pan African Festival (PAFF) will celebrate “Car Wash” the comedy about what goes on in a single 10-hour period in a Los Angeles car wash with a special screening.

Directed by Michael Schultz (“Cooley High” ) and written by Joel Schumacher, who wrote “Sparkle,” the film which featured a random assortment of comedic characters and a vibrant soundtrack, aptly captured the rhythms of a working-class work day. 

The classic film was stacked with Black comedy and cinematic greats Franklyn Ajaye, Bill Duke, Ivan Dixon, Antonio Fargas, Garrett Morris, and Richard Pryor, and music from Rose Royce with a cameo by the Pointer Sisters, Schultz’s.
