The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC have announced the 99th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, and the 100th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2028.
Eligibility period for movies to be considered for an Oscar begins Thursday, January 1, 2026 for the 99th Oscars with the Oscar Nominations Announcement scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2027.
No hosts have been announced. Previous popular hosts of the annual award show include stand-up comic and filmmaker Chris Rock, Billy Crystal, who marked his ninth time hosting the show in 2012 and Ellen DeGeneres, who made the 2014 annual Oscars the most watched Academy Awards since 2000 when 46.53 million tuned in.
The shows will air live at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide from the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood.
