For Laverne Cox, “Outcome” is a relatable project.
A dark comedy that centers on Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves), a Hollywood star who is extorted with a mysterious video that’s likely to shatter his immaculate image and end his career, Cox related to the drama having experienced controversy in her career.
“There was a period when I would have little contoversies pop up and I was obsessively googling to see the latest thing. I do way less of that now,” adds the actress who plays Virginia Allen-Green, a lawyer and part of a crises PR team brought on when Reef has his scandal. “I am like a different Olivia Pope.”
Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, Jonah Hill also star in the drama which follows Reef as he embarks on a soul-searching journey to make amends with anyone he could have possibly wronged in hopes of identifying the blackmailer.
“There is a delicate balance of being open to construtive feedback as you get out of touch being in this business, but if you listen to people they will tell you what you need to be doing. With discernment, you will discover what is in good faith ,” shares Cox who best known for her role as Sophia Burset on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black.”
“I am grateful to be doing work with this incredibe cast. The script is so smart and we have never had a movie like that.”
