J.J. Abrams ‘The End of Oak Street’ scheduled for an August Release

J.J. Abrams is a filmmaker, director, and producer known for  hits such as “Lost”, as well as producing the “Cloverfield”  franchises.

His latest sci-fi drama “The End of Oak Street’ follows the Platt family living in a suburban neighborhood whose lives are upended when a “mysterious cosmic event” physically rips their street and its entire residential block from suburbia and transports it to an unknown, prehistoric environment. They soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.

Starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor,  it  also stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.

The film is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by Abrams.

“The End of Oak Street” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, only in theaters and IMAX in North America on August 14, 2026, and internationally beginning 12 August 2026.
