The African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF) is celebrating Women’s History Month with a series of screenings taking place March 27–29 in person at Teachers College and The Forum at Columbia University.
This special three-day program celebrates the creativity, resilience, and global impact of women across the African diaspora through powerful cinema and conversations with filmmakers. The lineup highlights African American stories, international perspectives, and films that explore art, activism, and social justice.
Featured films include Ousmane Sembène’s “Black Girl” which follows a Senegalese woman who suffers discrimination and marginalization after moving overseas for a better life. There’s also the Oscar-shortlisted documentary “Seeds” by Brittany Shyne, Gloria Rolando’s “The Eyes of the Rainbow “about Assata Shakur’s life in exile, and “Power Alley” and “Village Keeper.”
