David Oyelowo and his wife Jessica are set to appear in their first American movie together.
Jessica, who has starred in several television series in the U.K. has been married to David since 1998.
An actress and a composer, she’s appeared in several movies and TV shows, but took a break in 2012 to raise their four kids. She’s most commonly known for “Sleepy Hollow” and appeared in a guest spot on the show “Children’s Hospital.”
Although the husband and wife team have worked together on a project in the past, “Captive” will be their first U.S. collaboration.
Directed by Jerry Jameson, “Captive” is based on the spiritual journey of Ashley Smith and Brian Nichols. After being taken hostage by Brian in her own apartment, Ashley turns to Rick Warren’s inspirational book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” for guidance. In reading from the book, Ashley not only finds purpose in her own life, but helps Brian find a more peaceful resolution to a harrowing situation.
The film also stars Kate Mara, Mimi Rogers and Michael K. Williams.
